A Few More Moonshine Agency Reviews

In 2018, Moonshine Agency competed for and won a request for proposals for a film project aligned with UICC’s advocacy campaign, Treatment for All. Within a matter of months, Mike and his team helped us storyboard, film and produce powerful films about promoting greater equity in access to cancer services around the world. Every detail was well planned, and turned what could have been a daunting, time consuming project into an exciting opportunity to showcase our work and the work of our members in new, cinematic ways. In addition to providing us with quality films to highlight our advocacy efforts, Mike and his team also brought the limelight to the people we work with, and gave them a platform to elevate their work and their voices. All who participated in the film had a great experience, and were eager to share the film through their own channels, whether it be in Uganda, Mexico, Switzerland or Indonesia, due to the inclusive filming and production process that encouraged them to speak in their mother tongues and to ground responses in their contexts, knowing that appropriate subtitles would be provided as necessary for viewers. This multicultural approach helped to meet UICC’s need in exhibiting Treatment for All as a campaign for everyone, an advocacy call to action that can be raised in any language to achieve a united goal. We are very grateful for the opportunity to have embarked on this project with Moonshine Agency. Thank you!

At IAHPC we have worked with Moonshine Agency several times in the past and they are fantastic. And we recently completed a fundraising project with them with a series of videos – the resulting videos are fantastic and very well done and the strategy well planned. It was a pleasure to work with Mike and the Moonshine team!

Executive Director, International Association for Hospice & Palliative Care

I’d also like to recommend Moonshine’s services to anyone looking for story-driven videos for their business. Mike and his team were really good to work with, great attention to detail, experienced, responsive and committed to delivering quality videos. I would encourage you to work with them.

Our organisation recently undertook a Cycling Charity Challenge as a major fundraising drive for project funding in Vietnam. It was the first of its kind where over 20 participants from around the world all met in Cambodia to cycle over 400km to Ho Chi Minh City, collectively raising over $80,000.

To support the future growth of this major fundraising program we chose to document the trip with video to use in future promotions.

We worked with Mike Hill from Moonshine Agency because of his strong history with other Non Government Organisations and Charities and the quality and professionalism of the video productions he has undertaken with them.

We were extremely happy with our choice and it is an absolute pleasure to work with Mike and his team, they provide guidance and support to us in an area we are not familiar with, they were clear and transparent on all aspects of the project and were in regular communication through all stages.

The level of professionalism and customer service was second to none and I would highly recommend Mike and Sue and their team at Moonshine Agency to anyone wanting to produce high quality video productions for their business or organisation.

Mike and Sue are the most wonderful film makers. They take great care to understand their clients and the scope of work, and for us, delivered a piece that was beyond what we could have hoped. Mike and Sue have worked with our students to build “digital stories”, and in doing so have shown their innate ability to connect with, build trust with, and understand the subjects of their films. We’ve been thrilled with the work that they have done for us.

On top of all this, they are wonderful people, generous, kind and caring. I recommend them highly!

I just wanted to express our thanks for the fantastic video ‘Kaye’s Story’ you produced for our National Palliative Care Week campaign.

The video was launched at our National Palliative Care Week breakfast event to an audience of politicians, policy makers, palliative care workers and other leading health advocates. I could go on to list the audience of luminaries, but attendees included the (then) Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, the Hon. Mark Butler MP and Professor Ian Maddocks, Senior Australian of the Year, amongst others.

The whole audience was moved, some to the point of tears, by ‘Kaye’s Story’. It was an absolutely beautiful portrayal of Kaye and her family and perfectly captured the intense time in life this is for them, but also the comfort and support they are receiving from palliative care.

We continue to be amazed by the work that Moonshine produces and are extremely grateful for your work in promoting palliative and end of life care issues. We will use ‘Kaye’s Story’ in our continuing advocacy efforts.

Moonshine Agency was commissioned to produce a film to raise awareness of homelessness in the ACT and the need for new thinking in the current housing models and to raise funding to build Canberra’s first Common Ground.

Mike Hill and Sue Collins took on this challenge with gusto and developed a plan that envisaged a three part story of homelessness, the issues, how it manifests and most importantly that there was a solution being Common Ground.

Our films were the part of the catalyst for raising awareness and funds to build common ground, they were able to open dialogue with Government, philanthropists, business and the Canberra community, the films started a conversation which enabled a large pledge and commitments from both the ACT and Commonwealth Governments to be made.

The films provided a strong emphasis on the issues of homelessness in Canberra in a sympathetic way highlighting that it could happen to any of us at any time. The films showed the journey of a number of people who agreed to share their stories, their fears and their hopes and dreams. We were able to showcase Canberra as a beautiful city with it darker side. The films remain a powerful message today.

I would recommend Mike and Sue to any other social enterprises as an organisation which is quickly grasps the issues and can articulate a plan and they also showed great empathy and respect for the participants of the films not forgetting that they were in their space and home even though for some that was the streets of Canberra.

Developing and working on this project has been a delight, and as complete novices to the process, you certainly reassured us that it would all be ok. Having professional actors involved just brought the story to life and they are really convincing!! I am so excited to be able to use them for teaching very soon.

We have entrusted all of our media requirements (including online presence, video production and photography) to Moonshine continually since 2005. The nature of our work meant that we needed to find a production/creative design agency that could capture the mood and essence of what we do rather than just be an online pamphlet or sales brochure.

I simply said that we needed a website with extensive video footage that could capture the aesthetic of the Jazz music genre and the atmosphere of a Jazz club environment and Moonshine did the rest, coming up with a website that is regularly complimented by leading event management companies and both our private and corporate clients.

Moonshine has the ability to combine the commercial aspects required of a functional, professional and detailed website with the creative and artistic elements to give our website a uniqueness. The amount of positive feedback and bookings we receive as a direct result of our website means I have continued to use Moonshine for all of our video production, photography and website requirements.

Moonshine have taken us to a whole new level in communicating with our stakeholders and clients. They design and publish an imaginative, professional and highly effective electronic newsletter linked to updated information from our website and backed by a comprehensive database. Even better, it is completely user friendly and enables us to manage our communication, marketing and branding opportunities how and when we want them.
